After losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2025 Super Bowl, the NFL great was obviously devastated.
After the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss, NFL star Patrick Mahomes ignored one of his teammates, leaving fans perplexed.
In the 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans, the reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs were soundly defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night.
Star players Travis Kelce and Mahomes were obviously upset after the game since they were unable to become the first players in history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
The reason behind Mahomes’ complete blanking of one of his teammates after the game was over, however, is something that supporters find incomprehensible.
After defeating the Eagles in 2023 and the San Francisco 49ers in 2024, the Chiefs were the favorites heading into the highly anticipated NFL season finale. However, it wasn’t meant to be, as the Eagles exacted revenge by defeating the defending champs 40–22.
Even though he missed one person, quarterback Mahomes made sure to thank his bench teammates after the game and express his displeasure at the outcome.
The 29-year-old is seen embracing his teammates and shaking hands in a social media video, but viewers noticed that he totally neglected running back Samaje Perine.
One admirer responded to the incident by asking: “Does anyone know why he passed Perine in the manner that he did? He felt disrespectful in every situation, even getting up.

Another person added: “He disregarded fellow Gator Perine. Not cool.
“Locker room divided,” one said. Smh.
Fans quickly pointed out, though, that it was probably all an accident because Mahomes ran up to embrace his close friend Kelce after spotting him.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ loss on Monday is only the second time in five Super Bowl outings that Mahomes has lost; the other was against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021.
“There’s no way around it,” Mahomes said after the game, acknowledging that his stellar Super Bowl record doesn’t make the loss any easier to accept. It’s the worst feeling in the world to lose a Super Bowl, and it will follow you for the rest of your career.
“I mean, these two setbacks will spur me on to even greater success for the remainder of my career. Since there aren’t many of these [Super Bowls], you must take advantage of them.
“It’s going to hurt for a while, but how can you respond from it?”
“Recovering from that in the Super Bowl is difficult. I must take that lesson to heart and work to improve for my upcoming, hopefully, opportunity.
“I didn’t play to my standard and I have to be better next time.”
