The couple’s “just hasn’t been a good week” was explained by an insider.
Travis Kelce, the star of the Kansas City Chiefs, hasn’t been having a good time lately after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles 40–22 on Sunday, February 9.
He had to cope with his girlfriend Taylor Swift getting a fair amount of criticism throughout the game as the audience erupted in jeering when the jumbotron panned to her, in addition to his team losing the much-anticipated final.
Swift was clearly furious, and as if things couldn’t get much worse, Donald Trump, the US president, decided to make fun of the incident, which apparently didn’t sit well with Kelce.
According to a source close to Kelce, Travis felt powerless when he saw Taylor being jeered. This was reported by the MailOnline. He was moved by the expression on her face.
“It crushed his heart that he always shields her. The fact that the stadium was filled primarily with Eagles supporters didn’t help his already difficult evening. Travis is aware of how hurt she is, and everyone can see it.
The source went on to say: “It’s clear to many that the Eagles fans feel she is a traitor of sorts – being from Pennsylvania and even wearing Eagles gear prior to dating him.”
They also reacted to Trump’s handling of Taylor’s jeering.
The 78-year-old Republican leader posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, that “Taylor Swift gets jeered at the Super Bowl while Trump receives huge cheers.” This was the first time a sitting American president had attended the major sporting event.
“The world is healing!”
In a subsequent post, he added: “Taylor Swift was the only one who had a more difficult night than the Kansas City Chiefs. She was jeered as she left the stadium.
“MAGA is very unforgiving!”
“Travis feels that it was unnecessary for Trump to take a dig at her, especially after he voiced that he was honored for a president to be there,” the MailOnline insider added in response to such remarks.
They came to the following conclusion: “It hasn’t been a good week for them after Travis lost the biggest game of the year and Taylor was disqualified from a Grammy. However, he is aware that despite the season’s unhappy conclusion, he finds immense satisfaction in her devotion.”
When asked about the president’s presence at the game before Trump’s “dig,” Kelce responded that it was a “great honor.”
It’s the biggest game of my life, and having the president there makes it the best country in the world,” he added. “I believe, you know, regardless of who the president is, I know I’m excited. That would be really awesome.
