Jayden Richardson, who is currently 17 years old, began vaping at the age of 12 in an attempt to blend in with his buddies. Given that he has been smoking the equivalent of fifty cigarettes every day, his vaping was excessive.
When he began coughing up “pints” of blood on the final day of his family vacation in Turkey, his habit became problematic.
Jayden was taken to the hospital right away after they got home.
According to his mother, Elita, physicians believed he had a stomach ulcer based on the symptoms.
She thought that her son’s eating habits—specifically, the greasy food and kebabs he consumed daily while on vacation—were the cause of his illness. However, she couldn’t be more mistaken.
Following an endoscopy, medical professionals concluded that the blood he was coughing was caused by significant lung damage from his vaping use.
Despite the doctors’ advice to never use e-cigarettes again, Jayden was determined to kick the habit. However, he only maintained his word until January, when he reached for the vape once more on his birthday.
Unfortunately, when the symptoms returned, this was a very “stupid” thing to do.
Jayden is currently awaiting a CT scan. His goal is to never vape again, and he thinks that the June 2025 ban on disposable vapes will help him achieve this goal.
“I was terrified,” Jayden said as he related his experience. I had no idea that vaping might lead to all of this.
“It began in Turkey.” I experienced some chest ache the previous evening, but I didn’t give it much thought. When I got up the following morning, I quickly smoked my vape and felt as like I had a slight cough in my chest.
After coughing a few times, Jayden continued, “I decided to spit it out because it felt a little phlegmy.” I was shocked when I realized it was blood. I was unsure about what to do on my own.
His mother was eating breakfast when he informed her, but it wasn’t that horrible until she reached him.
He had a drink at the pool afterwards. He suddenly began coughing up blood once more.
“I would tell myself to never touch one of them if I could go back to when I first started [vaping],” the teenager said. The danger they pose and the actual harm they may cause to the human body is astounding. When you do it, you are unaware of it. It only has long-term effects on you. I would never come in contact with one.
