Princes William and Harry’s dependable bodyguard, Graham Craker, passed away at the age of 77. Known as “Crackers,” he spent 35 years working for the royal family, 15 of those years as the princes’ personal guardian.
When the young princes at Balmoral heard of Princess Diana’s untimely death in 1997, Craker was there. Later, he remembered how William had gently thanked him when he had told him the news.
Craker, William, and Harry walked behind the hearse at Diana’s funeral. He claimed that knowing that Craker was present for their mother’s last trip, Prince William gave him a comforting nod.
As the funeral passed, crowds threw flowers and sobbed. People stepped out to bow in respect as even the cars on the other side of the M1 stopped.
In Spare, Prince Harry revealed that he and William loved their bodyguard Graham Craker, affectionately referring to him as “Crackers.” Even twelve years after retiring, Craker went to William and Kate’s wedding.
The royals and his community continued to love Craker, who was honoured by Queen Elizabeth II and actively involved in charitable endeavours in his senior years.
A devoted volunteer at the Southern Maltings Creative Centre, Graham Craker, has tragically died. The centre affectionately referred to him as “our very own James Bond” in a moving ode posted on Facebook on Thursday.
“We regret to inform you of the untimely death of our friend and colleague, Graham Craker,” the post said.
“Graham has been with us virtually from the start and has been behind our bar the entire time, ensuring that everyone has the greatest experience possible.
