Christie and Wesley Werts are a loving couple who started dating five years ago. After they got married, they became a blended family.
They made a lovely family by combining Wesley’s kids, Austin and Dakota, with Christie’s daughter, Megan.
However, they had no idea that their romance would take a singular turn, bringing Levi, a miracle baby, into their life via adoption.
The couple’s tenacity and resolve were demonstrated during the adoption process for Levi. The Werts family was looking forward to bringing their baby son home after waiting 16 months for the adoption procedure to be completed.

Dream of a baby
But for Christie and her family, Levi’s adoption story takes a heartwarming turn that feels like a dream come true. Wesley’s ex-partner, Levi’s biological mother, struggled with drug usage during pregnancy. Levi was born in Texas in August 2021. According to Newsweek, she tragically died four days after Levi’s early birth at 33 weeks due to addiction and coronavirus-related problems.
When Wesley’s sister broke the heartbreaking news about his ex-wife, the couple learned about Levi. Christie was committed to giving Levi a secure and caring home because she had been in foster care herself.
More astonishingly, Christie has recurrent nightmares about a blue-eyed blond kid for three months prior to ever finding out about Levi. When she learned of Levi’s existence, this dream played a big role in her decision to adopt him.
Christie’s wish came true when the Werts family journeyed from Ohio to Texas to meet Levi through Child Protection Services. I fell head over heels for this blond-haired, blue-eyed infant the moment I walked in. It was a pretty strange sensation. She said, “This was my son.”
The Werts family encountered additional difficulties, even though adoption is frequently difficult, particularly for newborns. They had to go through a legal process that included the termination of Levi’s biological father’s parental rights, which required them to sell their Ohio home and move to Texas for court proceedings.
Levi’s adoption was completed after 16 months of court appearances, interviews, and home inspections; at last, the parents could bring their baby boy home.
Dealing with criticism
However, several internet users criticized Christie for sharing the story online, questioning her decision despite the story’s endearing quality.
Someone said, “I mean, poor baby, he’s going to see this when he grows up and is going to give him a lot of depression and more.”
Another person commented, “There are some things you don’t share on the media, and this is one of them.”
Other others said that they wished the new family a great life and expressed their happiness for the couple.
