With Mike Myers depicting his chainsaw-wielding antics, Elon Musk was the focus of another Saturday Night Live spoof. However, some viewers have their own gloomy reasons for not finding the segment particularly humorous.
Since Elon Musk joined the campaign trail of now-US President Donald Trump last year, the back-and-forth between the CEO of Tesla and comedy live show Saturday Night Live has intensified dramatically.
In May 2021, Musk hosted the show for the first time, causing controversy when he made cast member Chloe Fineman weep. However, in recent months, he has only made appearances through humorous impersonations and disparaging jokes.
Musk has previously attacked the show after similar impersonations, and Chris Rock threw many blows at the world’s richest man in his opening speech.
However, neither supporters nor critics of the DOGE head have come out smiling, suggesting that Mike Myers’ recent derision of Musk has caused friction on both sides of the debate.

Others may have found this specific scene too “scary” to see the humor, but Musk himself said that “humor fails when it lies” in response to the sketch in which Myers was seen thrashing about a chainsaw behind Trump and Zelenskyy.
In a Reddit thread discussing the skit, one person comments, “It was satisfying to watch, but I didn’t find it funny because it was too spot on, which is scary to me.”
They “can’t even enjoy people making fun of this s***,” another person wrote. It is all so gloomy.
Throughout its 50-year history, Saturday Night Live has made fun of numerous US presidents, but the antics of Trump and Musk may be too “real” for many viewers to find the humor in them.
Another review regarding Myers’ portrayal of Musk said, “I felt he was far too charismatic.” “I apologize, Myers, but in order to get this one right, the creep factor will need to be raised a little bit above Austin Powers.”
However, it is evident that Musk is not very grateful for the copycat, and this is not the first time he has used social media to respond to criticism directed at him in the entertainment industry.
Following a speech that attacked the tech tycoon and President Trump, Musk earlier called Jimmy Kimmel, host of a late-night talk show, a “insufferable nonsense propaganda puppet.” Kimmel responded scathingly, “At least my children like me.”
It’s certain that this won’t be the last social media tantrum, but the humor is beginning to fade as reality sets in for many. He has also gotten into arguments with artist Cardi B and the notorious hacker collective Anonymous over remarks they made.
