As President Donald Trump and Elon Musk try to streamline the US Government, every federal employee can anticipate receiving an email in their inbox that, if ignored, might lead to resignation.
Trump and Musk have made rapid reforms to the federal government without wasting any time.
In addition to directing a task team of individuals at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) with Vivek Ramaswamy, the CEO of Tesla has been formally designated as a “special government employee.”
‘Dismantle Government Bureaucracy, remove unnecessary rules, cut needless expenditures, and reform Federal Agencies’ is DOGE’s main goal, according to Trump.
Additionally, Musk issued an email ultimatum to federal employees on Saturday, February 22.
All federal employees have received a blanket email from Elon Musk asking them to update him on their activities throughout the past week .
The email’s instructions are clear: officials must provide an explanation of their actions throughout the past week. Failure to do so by Monday at 11:59 p.m. ET will effectively result in their resignation.
Musk posted on Twitter yesterday: “All federal employees will soon receive an email asking them to understand what they completed last week, in accordance with President @realDonaldTrump’s directives.
“Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.”
What was the email’s content then? One recipient of the notification, however, uploaded a photo of it to the internet.
“Please respond to this email with roughly five bullet points summarizing your accomplishments from the previous week, and cc your
manager,” it said. Kindly refrain from sending any attachments, links, or classified material.
“Deadline is this Monday at 11:59pmEST.”
“What did you do last week?” was the subject line of the email that was sent to people’s inboxes after Trump’s speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), according to the BBC.
Responding to this email would take less than 2 minutes for any truly productive person.

In the meantime, emails that CNN was able to collect also revealed that they were classified as extremely essential; Musk’s reference to resigning due to a lack of response was likewise left out.
This decision has not been well accepted, especially in light of the other significant changes that Trump has imposed on the workplace.
“The FBI, through the Office of the Director, is in charge of all of our review processes, and will conduct reviews in accordance with FBI procedures,” stated FBI Director Kash Patel, warning staff not to react right away (via Sky News). We will coordinate the responses if and when more information is needed.
“For now, please pause any responses.”
The following is a statement from federal court authorities urging no response: “Please be advised that this email did not originate from the judiciary or the administrative office and we suggest that no action be taken.”
“Cruel and disrespectful” to federal employees, Everett Kelley, president of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), said the AFGE would “challenge any unlawful terminations of our members and federal employees across the country.”
