“Denzel Washington Reflects on His Legacy, Sparking Retirement Buzz”

Denzel Washington just revealed a host of new projects, including one that many fans may not have expected.

Denzel Washington, 69, is ready to leave Hollywood after finishing a last slate of films, marking the end of a decades-long career.

Washington told Australia’s Today show, “I’m not sure how many more films I’m going to make.” Probably not very many.”

His planned projects include resuming his role as Othello, which he first played at the age of 22.

“I’m about to play Othello at 70,” the two-time Academy Award winner said.

Aside from that, he’s hinted at working with Steve McQueen and Ryan Coogler, who is apparently developing a role for him in the upcoming Black Panther picture. Washington also suggested projects such as King Lear before hinting, “After that, I’m going to retire.”

Washington began his career in 1977 with the made-for-television film Wilma, and he made his feature debut in 1981 with Carbon Copy. Since then, he has become one of Hollywood’s most acclaimed performers, with memorable performances in films like Glory, Training Day, and Malcolm X. His work has continuously demonstrated his talent and commitment, gaining him global recognition and countless awards.

Earlier this year, Washington expressed his wish to be part with Gladiator 2.

“There are very few films left for me to make that I’m interested in, and I have to be inspired by the filmmaker,” the leading man stated.
