In reaction to trolls who claimed that a selfie she shared on social media earlier this month was “fake,” Jennifer Love Hewitt did not mince words.
The Ghost Whisperer actress reportedly appeared in an Instagram photo that her hairstylist, Nikki Lee, posted, and several internet users quickly criticized her for her altered look.
Jennifer’s hair was dyed a rich, dark brown and cut into a bob. The photo was captioned, “Was time to spice things up,” by her stylist.
As is customary when a famous person makes changes to their appearance, fans of the 44-year-old were prepared to comment. While most of them were nice, some attempted to make fun of Love Hewitt by saying she had had cosmetic surgery.
The actress gained notoriety for her role in I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), and some people called her “unrecognizable.”
Although it’s customary for celebrities to just ignore their skeptics and critics in these kinds of circumstances, Love Hewitt chose to reply to her naysayers by posting a number of pictures that implied she had undergone cosmetic surgery.
The actress added, “I was told I looked different by a lot of people.”
“I appear just like I always do. Couldn’t appear more authentic. Here’s how I woke up. Filters don’t actually alter who you are.
It goes without saying that Hewitt’s face was altered with a number of filters in the cheeky pictures. Regardless of the exaggeration, the actress advised people to be polite when leaving comments on other people’s photos.
She wrote, “Let people be filtered or unfiltered,” at the end of her message. Act well. Be considerate. Love should be shared.
Love Hewitt released a picture of herself celebrating her 44th birthday earlier this year, which prompted scrutiny of her appearance.
“At 4 a.m., I woke up and I was 44!””I am extremely thankful, fortunate, content, occasionally self-conscious about growing older, a mother of three amazing children, married to the most amazing and attractive man, and extremely eager to see what this year holds for us,” she wrote in her letter.
“I love magic, and I sense magic in the air right now.” Thank you for bringing me into the world, mom. I’m heading to work. You are sorely missed. Later, I will celebrate my birthday after finishing my work. By the way, Atticus woke up much too early and sang me a happy birthday song! It made my heart melt. I hope everyone has an amazing day. My birthday needs to be celebrated! ❤️.
The former child star’s transformation was so striking that many admirers and followers commented.
“I thought they were mistaken when I saw this picture in an article because I didn’t recognize JLH—there wasn’t even a similarity.”I came to Instagram just to be sure, and I’m surprised,” a user wrote.
“Why doesn’t she look like herself? I’m really perplexed,” someone else said.
“That’s not her,” said a third. “It’s not possible.”
