At the edge of an orchard near Madera Ranchos, California, there was a peculiar creature that appeared to be a “werewolf.” It was standing by the side of the road. Everyone was afraid to even look at him since he had a patch of fur that was unkempt, he was thin, and he did not have any hair.
After a number of months had passed, nobody was willing to approach the unfortunate animal, whose skin was rough and covered in scales, and whose tail was broken and on a point. It was only the black fur that remained on his head and neck that remained.
As a result of the widespread belief that he was a threat and the fact that it was evident that he was ill, people would ignore him whenever they were in his vicinity.
By some stroke of luck, an angel in the guise of a human being made the decision that this puppy was worthy of her time. The woman chose to stop and check on the poor dog before making the decision to contact for assistance. Subsequently, a different kind woman by the name of Megan Bowe responded to the call. “I was about ready to cry when I saw how bad off he was,” Megan, who is the founder of Bowe’s Adoptable Rescued Pup, said in an interview with The Dodo regarding the situation.
“He was truly on the verge of passing away. He suffered from depression and was so weak that he could hardly stand.
Megan quickly came to the conclusion that this “werewolf” was, in reality, a German shepherd mix that had been neglected and died of illness. Immediately after giving him the name King, she took him to a veterinarian’s clinic.
In spite of the fact that King suffered from a multitude of disorders, Meghan and the medical professionals made the decision to treat each of them separately at the time. Scabies, a broken pelvis, and a broken tail were the three most significant problems he was suffering from, and they all required surgical diagnosis and treatment.
According to Megan, “My veterinarian believes that he was struck by a car, and that would explain how his tail was so messed up for him as well.” “That injury occurred a number of months ago, since by the time I received him, it had already begun to heal in an inappropriate manner. He was severely underweight and dehydrated due to the fact that he was unable to move around very far on his own in order to search for food because his pelvis had been broken to such an extent.
Although King appeared to be rather elderly due to his health condition, he was actually only one year old at the time. Due to the fact that he was suffering from a number of diseases, some of which were infectious, Megan was required to separate him from the other animals that she cared for and house him in a separate portion of the facility.
The good news is that King started eating, and he found that he was getting a larger portion each day.
As King’s condition gradually improved, he became more and more prepared to undertake the surgery that was absolutely necessary to repair his fractured pelvis and tail.
The surgeries were carried out without a hitch!
It was a long process for him to regain the ability to walk, but with the assistance of Megan and the veterinarians, he was able to accomplish the seemingly impossible and stand on his own two feet once more.
The adoption of King is something that Megan is looking forward to happening in the near future. She has only one wish, and that is for a caring family to take him in and provide him with a home that is filled with love.
“It’s hard to think that all those cars passed him by and never stopped. Because he appeared to be in such a terrible state, no one wanted to bring him home or assist him. On the other hand, I just needed one person,” Megan explained.
