Martha Stewart is the cover girl!
The lifestyle expert made her Sports Illustrated debut on the cover of the prestigious Swimsuit Issue. The 2023 issue included three additional cover models: Brooks Nader, Kim Petras, and Megan Fox.
At eighty-one, Stewart is the oldest participant.
She acknowledged, “I thought, Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person I think ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated,” when she learnt she would be featured on the swimsuit cover. “Although I don’t give age much thought, I felt that this was somewhat historic.”
For her photo shoot, the 81-year-old journeyed to the Dominican Republic. She claimed it was a “challenge” for her, but she thought she “met the challenge” in an interview with Today hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb.
For her cover shoot, Stewart donned ten different outfits, but the magazine finally decided on a picture of her with an orange shawl draped over her shoulders and a white bathing suit with a plunging neckline.
Age is merely a numerical value.
Stewart stated that age has no bearing on her day-to-day activities, even though she is the oldest person to ever appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
“What matters more than your age is what other people do, how they think, and how they act. Age is not a determining factor in friendship or success.”
In a recent interview with InStyle, Stewart talked about being seen as a “bona fide sex symbol” in spite of her advanced age.
“I teach. I want to show people that you can look fantastic. Regarding sharing her viral thirst traps on social media, she stated, “There’s no reason to slump around.”
Martha Stewart looks amazing! Her outlook on growing older should be a model for all of us.
